The RSPCA Sydney Shelter located in Yagoona is one of 10 RSPCA shelters in NSW, it provides care, shelter and veterinary treatment to abandoned, injured, neglected and sick animals. Onsite they not only offer adoptions but also a foster program, school holiday program, a corporate support day program, puppy pre-school classes and barking consultations. The facility also includes a pet retail shop and the RSPCA NSW Sydney Veterinary Hospital treating shelter animals as well as the animals of residents in the local community and offer support and advice to pet owners. With 456 animal closures, 392 volunteers and 1140 meals served per day it is a buzzing facility.
Recently COS had the pleasure of working with the RSPCA fit out a new office area for their Yagoona location. The RSPCA raised funds to pay for the fit out and COS was happy to help with a budget conscious solution to fit the brief. COS worked closely with the RSPCA and made variations to the original proposal to ensure that the unique needs of the RSPCA were met. As there are animals on site who would sometimes be in the office area there were specific requirements to make sure the animals were accommodated. 10 work stations were fitted with chairs tested and approved by staff. “RSPCA blue” was introduced to the pallette to give it that custom feel. Given the challenge of having animals in the vicinity we were careful to make sure the job was done quickly and cleanly and we were happy to meet and spend time with Lady, a gorgeous older border collie. It was an absolute pleasure to work with the RSPCA in realising their vision for the Yagoona shelter.
